Euless Trinity starts high school football weekend with 52-7 rout

EULESS — For the families, students, band members and alumni who packed the scarlet-and-black west side of Pennington Field on Friday, the night delivered what a home October Friday in Euless is supposed to: a 52–7 District 8–6A win over Aldine MacArthur. The Week 7 victory lifted the Trojans to 4–2 on the season, with earlier wins over Richardson Berkner, Irving and South Grand Prairie and losses to Austin Westlake and Aledo.

The kids who made the margin

Fifth-year head coach Aaron Lineweaver summed up the district matchup this way: “I knew this was going to be a dogfight”. It did not stay one long. Senior quarterback Mack Lineweaver has thrown 12 touchdown passes in the 2026 season, and his approach stays simple: “I just have to go out there and be me,” he said. Tight end Kohen Fiefia leads the Trojans with 247 receiving yards and four total touchdowns in 2026, while Marcus Turner carries the rushing load for the Trojans.

A name that runs through the stands

Mack Lineweaver is the son of head coach Aaron Lineweaver and the grandson of Steve Lineweaver, the program’s longtime coach. Under Steve Lineweaver, Trinity won state championships in 2005, 2007 and 2009. The scarlet-and-black stands draw from across the district and fill Pennington Field, the stadium Trinity shares with crosstown rival L.D. Bell. Alumni from the title years watched this team on the same turf their own teams owned. The band played from above the end zone, cheerleaders worked the sideline, and students filled their sections — the Friday-night ritual Euless measures its autumns by.

When to be back in the stands

Trinity’s next game is Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at Irving Nimitz — a 7:00 p.m. start at Irving ISD Stadium. The next home game is Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, against Grand Prairie at Pennington Field at 7:00 p.m.. The regular season closes Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, at home against L.D. Bell at Pennington Field at 7:00 p.m. — the crosstown rivalry game played on the turf the two schools share.
